Be a mini-murdoch

Are you mourning the decline of the newspaper industry? Do you feel that even hyperlocal has nothing to say specifically to you? Well thanks to the newspaperclub you can now have your very own newspaper printed. Just a couple of days ago they finally worked out their pricing model and they are extremely affordable.

Why would you want to do this? Well for just £1.20 a copy, you could print a 12 page, tabloid format paper for 100 to put through the letter box of your neighbours. Or perhaps your employees or clients would like to catch up with company news while away from their computers.

The project came out of a desire to compile a reading list for one of Newspaper Club’s founders to take on holiday, which kind of highlights some of the real convenience that paper has over even the latest batch of e-books; low cost, portable, low power.

It will be really interesting to see if/how the paper based news industry will react to this.
