Well done and a big thank you to all the guys who represented Technophobia in the Sheffield Chamber of Commerce 5-a-side tournament.
It was awful weather – windy, wet and cold and such a slippery pitch that some moves owed more to dancing on ice than football. There were spectacular tackles, slick passing, amazing goals and one near concussion. I enjoyed watching the matches almost as much as watching Steve discover that woollen pullovers are not water-proof!
As always I was impressed by the skills, enthusiasm, talent, determination, teamwork, support and encouragement displayed by everyone. But I’m not surprised as I see this every single day at work. I’m immensely proud; our team only losing out in the semi finals to the team that eventually went on to win. Well done to all the teams who took part – we look forward to next time!
Special thanks to all the lads, in no particular order:
- Tim “Ron Manager” Brazier
- Steve “that’s an assist” Trotter
- Andy “hard-man” Matthews
- Chris “the whole 8 yards” Roberts
- Paul “pretty boots” Emsell
- Martin “the predator” Smith
- Richard “one-step” Jones
- Jonny “scary shouting” Rippon
- Chris “Tony Dorigo” Baird
Stars everyone!
