Clients!
What can we say? Last year was an absolutely fantastic year for all of us here at TechnoPhobia. And we couldn't have done it without you guys - the clients. We've welcomed some fantastic new clients whilst doing some very exciting work for our existing ones.
We've had projects go swimmingly whilst also encountering a fair few challenges, either way we have learnt loads and look forward to using these lessons to improve our ever improving service.
What have our good 'ol ever-present clients, been up to I hear you ask?
First up: Morrisons. Following on from the success of the Festival of Football website which promoted their offers during the World Cup, the supermarket giant commissioned TechnoPhobia to provide much of the same this Christmas.
The 'Celebrate Christmas' website proved to be a labour of love for the guys working on it, not just in ensuring it's beautiful look-and-feel but in the almost sensuous Content Management Framework (CMF) that has been built for it. This system allows the kind folk at Morrisons to update entire blocks of content with the click and drag of a mouse. The intention is that this framework can be re-used again and again, time after time allowing Morrisons a cost-effective and adaptive means of keeping their promotional sites fresh and appealing.
Morrisons upped their expectations after the success of the Festival of Football micro site and set their Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) much higher this time round. We are delighted to tell the world that we smashed their visitor target by 322% and their unique email sign-up quota by 139%! There was also a huge unexpected increase in return visitors.
Next: Avilla Rentals. Avilla is part of The Carp Group of companies run by the enigmatic Mr Roger Chant. His flagship site, www.lowcostcaraudio.com is one of TechnoPhobia's big success stories, doing exactly what it says on the tin - selling low cost car audio equipment. The Avilla Rental site is a simply gorgeous offering which advertises villas available for rental across the World. The www.avillarentals.com revamp went live on the 11th January.
UKI have recently made full use of TechnoPhobia's rapidly blossoming AJAX skills. Ajax is a programming technique written with JavaScript (a programming language) which can help deliver contextual information requests in real-time. If, like me, that makes no sense whatsoever, it really means we can provide users with very quick access to information without the page being reloaded. UKI are looking to implement Ajax functionality on their online application forms in the near future.
Bright Finance, the Sheffield-based secured loans company, has commissioned a re-design of their corporate site.
We'll keep you posted on the progress of this project and our bright ideas for this client in the next newsletter....
The future
As always we will be looking to build on the success of the last year and look forward to working with you all on some very exciting projects in the future.
