Set against a backdrop of superb leafy surroundings, Solihull College is one of the leading further and higher education colleges in the West Midlands. They selected TechnoPhobia to deliver their new website, a vital piece of the college's marketing jigsaw.
Solihull College's website functions primarily as a marketing tool to assist with the recruitment of students from both the UK and overseas. Therefore the key to the success of this project was to improve the website's usability, place a stronger marketing emphasis on the site and provide the internal marketing team with full control over content.
TechnoPhobia responded to the brief by providing usability consultancy to determine the structure of content on the website and the layout of navigation on the page. This involved taking into account the results of user focus groups and prioritising messages before then mapping this information onto wireframe page layouts. All this work was invested before a pixel was laid down on screen to ensure a highly intuitive user experience.
A content management system gives the marketing team the ability to update any area of the website without prior knowledge of HTML or web development. The website also conforms to Internet coding standards as outlined by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) and accessibility guidelines.
