    A: A PhD in video telephony

    A: I grew up in Somerset, we don’t do football

    A: iPhone and MacBook Pro

    A: Bertrand Russel’s History of Western Philosophy and a laptop with a satellite link that runs on seawater.

    A: My backup hard drive with all my data on it.
  3. Q: Where did you grow up?
    A: In a little village near Zuerich, Switzerland
  4. Q: What is your comfort food?
    A: Peanut butter sandwiches.

    A: I was working in multimedia.

    A: Minnesota Vikings, Nottingham Forest and F1 (don’t make me choose!)

    A: A Nokia 97 and an Acer Aspire One netbook.

    A: I don’t have enough of a concentration span to read a book (even on a deserted island) - a fully operational recording studio.

    A: It changes every week, this week it’s my snowboard.

    A: Gherkins, cheese and chillies.

    A: The complete works of Terry Pratchett and all the kit to set up a brewery (with a request that there is *something* fermentable on the island).

    A: My mind, once that is gone…

    A: Bournemouth (it isn’t in any way as dull as some people try to claim).
  4. Q: What is your comfort food?
    A: Pie, mash and gravy, but I generally cheat and buy the pastry ready made.

    A: I was in the cultural exhibition sector (I worked in the technical team at an arts cinema).

    A: Up The Cherries! And England (or anyone playing against Australia) for Cricket and Rugby Union.

    A: Nokia N900, Compaq netbook, HP laptop, 3G dongle.

    A: The Cloud Atlas and 30 cases of Brunello DiMontalcino – the best Chianti out there.

    A: The beautiful modernist eco-house which I spent the last five years building.

    A: Hornchurch, Essex – the edge of London.
  4. Q: What is your comfort food?
    A: Le President Camembert and Jacobs crackers.

    A: Raising money for and launching multimedia start-ups.

    A: My passion is music – dancehall, dubstep, UK funky, with a side order of English folk music.

    A: The complete works of Neal Stephenson (or just the baroque cycle if that’s cheating), unlimited paper and pencils.

    A: Camera (inc lenses, tripods, filters etc).

    A: Eckington, a small town just o’er the Derbyshire border.

    A: Chip butty.

    A: Student. And briefly an unemployed industrial designer.

    A: Team; Sheffield United, Passion; Photography.
